Using Magical Scripts

Hello, Everyone, I have a bit research that I’m hoping y’all can help with. I am examining a tarot deck that uses individual, alphabetic symbols on each card that are some of the Hebrew variants, Passing the River, Alphabet of the Magi, and Celestial Writing. I had always been under the impression that the decision to use one over another was more aesthetic than anything else. But maybe I’m wrong. I do not use Hebrew letters at all in my practice so I fully claim my ignorance. Is one best used with a specific type of spirit or angel? Are these even used any more?
