Just received and devoured in one night Mark Stavish's "The Magical World of Dr. Joseph Lisiewski". Should be a required read for all magicians, especially the ones who work in grimoire and ceremonial style work calling spirits to appearance.
It's an amazing back-stage insight into the life and work of one of the more influential voices in evocation.
Truly a cautionary tale that not only catalogues his accomplishments but his great real life failures. Drives home the point to not just pay attention to what your favorite author says in their books, but pay attention to whether their life is a success or failure. Too many occult authors are paper tigers who are "lords of the universe" in print, but die broke and lonely at a relatively young age.
