StudioArcanis.com Forum Rules and Guidelines

Welcome to StudioArcanis.com

Please read the following rules and guidelines very carefully. By proceeding to post you agree to these guidelines and must obey them at all times. Refusal to obey these guidelines will result in the appropriate responsive actions.

This is not a beginners forum

Most of the members of this forum are seasoned practitioners in evocation and magical practice. We assume you know the basics of magical theory. You are more than welcome to join the forum, but we are not here to spoon feed anybody. Do your homework before asking a question. There are plenty of other forums more geared towards helping out those new to the occult. Evocation is definitely an advanced and potentialy dangerous practice to those that are inexperienced. If you are kind of new to all of this. I suggest you practice humility and respect like you would out in the real world, Respect on this forum is earned. You can find hidden gems of knowledge posted all over this site. I suggest going through all the forums that Interest you, as you will probably find the information already posted.

We have implemented the following guide for using our forum.

We require all posts to be polite, constructive, and on topic.

Having fun is good. We like fun. Please keep it positive and polite. We may take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the forums beyond a civil and polite disagreement.

1: You may not make personal attacks on other users or staff members either in public forums or private messages.

2: You may not advertise or promote other companies or their products on here.

3: We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.

4: If you have an issue concerning our services, policies, or members, please use a personal contact method such as a private message or email to a staff member. All moderators, administrators, and support staff are highlighted in the active members list. We take serious complaints to heart and will do our best to address them.

The Golden Rules

There will be no racial, ethnic, gender based insults or any other personal discriminations.

There will be no posts meant to offend or hurt any other member, in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory.

Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive as possible.

Pornography, warez, or any other illegal transactions may NOT be linked in any shape or form.

No PDF begging!

No spell begging!

No linking to copyright material (Eg:PDF's)

No Soliciting of members of this forum to do magick on your behalf for compensation!

Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem cannot be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions.

Pictures may be posted as long as they are not explicit or offensive. If you plan to post more than one image, or the topic is based on graphics, please link the images rather than screening.

Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other topics and see where your topic should go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it will be moved by a moderator.

If a topic is recognized as being posted in the wrong forum, or if the post is a violation of our guidelines then please contact a moderator either via PM or the 'report post to moderator' feature; please do not respond publicly to the member - a member of staff will do what is required upon contact. Any person/s who attempt to present themselves as a Moderator by posting negatively to a member's topic (which has been posted in error and requires locking or moving to another forum) will be sent a PM warning and placed into moderation queue upon further actions.

Any impersonation of a user within these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.

Linked and locked topics may be pruned regularly to reduce page clutter. If you have a question about where your topic went, please PM a Moderator or Administrator before starting a new topic asking where it went, or posting a duplicate of the original topic. We will be happy to provide you with a link to the new location, or a reason why it was locked and/or removed.

If you are linking to external content, you should link directly to that content. It is unacceptable to use link-thru systems to mask the originating URL, and cases where this is found to be happening may be edited or removed as appropriate.

Violation of any of these rules will result in consequences determined on a case-by-case basis.

Use the search function

Please try the search function before you post a question there is a good chance somebody else discussed the same topic.

Be prepared to back up your claims.

A lot of the statements we make about reality are based upon assumptions, and we do not all share the same assumptions. If someone asks you to provide an argument or basis for a particular statement you have made, it is not intended as a slight, insult or personal attack. Some claims may seem "obvious" or self-evident to you, but bear in mind that we all have our own slightly different ways of looking at the world, and what seems obvious or self-evident to one person may not seem so self-evident to someone else. If you feel unable to provide support for an assertion, be prepared to acknowledge the assumption or retract the assertion.

Don't let the forum discussions get to you!

As you might expect, discussions that touch on issues of strongly-held belief and tradition can become heated. Remember that other participants in the discussion are real people with feelings of their own, and just because you may not agree with them, it doesn't necessarily make them bad people. If you find yourself driven to anger or frustration, take a break from the discussion, collect your thoughts and consider how best to compose an effective reply. This forum provides a number of areas for more light-hearted, "off-topic" discussion where you can discuss matters that are not quite so intense and get to know other forum members, and we encourage forum members to participate in those areas and get to know one another as people, not just as antagonists. Remember, the forum is here for everyone to enjoy. Have fun, and again, welcome!

Thank you for visiting studioarcanis.com we hope you enjoy your stay.
