Spirits and dreams

Hello everyone!
I am new here, so don't mind please if I ask something which you find it stupid ok ?
I am interested in magic and in dreams since I was a kid. Many things happened in my life so I believe in some things...
I have this question :
A friend of mine passed away on January and after 3 months ( he died in an accident) . I talked with him in my dreams ( I am able to have lucid dreams ) and he told that my technique for invoking spirits/ghosts it's wrong.
I have read about Ouija board and someone told me also some technique but nothing happened.
Can someone of you suggest me a technique for talking with dead people ?
