Has anyone ever disputed the classical interpretation of how the Enochian calls correspond to the tablets? I feel that they are wrong and maybe why beginners in Enochian may often experience negative results.
Different lodge systems try to apply zodiacal or kabbalistic correspondance to the calls, which I think is slippery slope in itself and leads to error. My interpretation below activates or makes use of the tablets in sequential order as I believe they are intended:
These first two calls are your standard opening for Enochian work:
1 - Opening prayer
2 - Tablet of Union - House of the Lord. (Air, Fire, Water, Earth references) Spirit of God himself
These four calls carry symbolic references to the 4 angles of Air:
3 - Air/Air - 1st Angle - (zodiac, living breath, decreases fire, increases earth)
4 - Air/Earth - 2nd Angle - (Feet in the south, sons of pleasure)
5 - Air/Fire -3rd Angle - (Continuously burning lamps)
6 - Air/Water - 4th Angle - (mighty in the Firmaments of the waters)
These four calls carry symbolic references to the 4 cardinal directions of earth:
7 - Earth/Air - East - (Ascendant) (flames of first glory = sunrise, Lord hath opened his mouth = breath of God)
8 - Earth/Earth - South - (Midday/Midheaven) (Strong, pillars, Glory of the earth, No Death, House)
9 - Earth/Fire - West - (Descendant) (Flaming Swords, settled feet in west = sunset)
10 - Earth/Water - North - (ImumCoeli) (lamentation/weeping for earth, Woe to earth)
These four calls reference various types of water: death, rain, sorrow, drunkenness, vexation
11 - Water/Air - (Eagle Flying East and speaking (house of death=scorpio))
12 - Water/Earth - (Rein in the south, bring down your rain)
13 - Water/Fire - (wrath, Swords, Drunken = Alcohol = Fire-Water)
14 - Water/Water (24 planetary hours/time, vexing/aging all men & women)
These four call reference the 4 elemental incarnations of fire:
15 - Fire/Air - 1st flame (wings, Hot-air dries the earth)
16 - Fire/Earth - 2nd flame (walks on earth with Feet in the House of justice)
17 - Fire/Fire - 3rd flame (Wrath and Anger, living lamps)
18 - Fire/Water - mighty flame (Comfort, glory of God)
