Re: Strophalos of Hecaté or Hekate's Wheel

I find for me when I am dealing with things I try to place source items in time sequence. When I first started I used to go by quotes and generic references. But now I try to place things in as near a time sequence as I can to see how they relate to often cited reference "quotes". Have to...

Re: Hekate & Her Mysteries

It's interesting that one of the earliest memories I have of seeing Hekate in a dream / vision is a late 20's early 30's woman who had eyes that looked like they were ancient and you could disappear into them they were do deep. Basically I had been walking on a forested road and came to a Y crossro...

Re: Strophalos of Hecaté or Hekate's Wheel

I agree there. The further removed we are from the event the more corrupted things become. Not only corrupted but "Revamped" to make it "Fit" any modifications that a new grouping wants to have so it supports some story line or history they need. Exactly. It gets edited and mess...

Re: Strophalos of Hecaté or Hekate's Wheel

That's the whole problem with this particular topic, there is not much in the actual archaeological records to go by. Any Ijnx's that might have been made were probably made of wood, paper or similar and have long since rotted away. Any smaller pottery items that might have been made have either be...

Re: Hekate & Her Mysteries

It's interesting but I don't think I've ever seen her as a crone. Every time I've seen her she's always appeared as perhaps a late 20's or 30ish woman. But never a crone to me. I've encountered her on forested roads, I've encountered her on the seas, heck even in a coastal city but never as an elde...

Re: Strophalos of Hecaté or Hekate's Wheel

In relation to the Strophalos and the associated research, as I've been digging into this, I've not found much in the way of useful root sources. Instead, there's a whole lot of conjecture & plenty of folks parroting what they've read elsewhere, often to the point of making this a trite conversa...

Re: Strophalos of Hecaté or Hekate's Wheel

I've seen these dodecahedrons before, and they're fascinating as pieces of artwork, though I honestly scratch my head at the idea of them having a ritual purpose or anything of the kind given the nature of what specimens I've seen. They don't really have the look of an item used in ritual, so I wond...

Re: Hekate & Her Mysteries

I'd like to see other's speak about how they interact with her. It always intrigues me. In my many years though it seems I've only encountered 1 or 2 people that utilize her Celestial or Watery aspects most tend to stay within her chthonic / witchy functions. I suppose you could even narrow that do...

Re: Strophalos of Hecaté or Hekate's Wheel

Looking forward to it. Same here, as this seems like a fascinating look into the Proto-Indo European mindset. I've not had much time to do additional reading on the subject, as I was intentionally offline last weekend. In brainstorming and reflecting on this, however, I am reminded of the concept o...

Excellent. Has doing so helped you?
I've been meaning to reintegrate this into my practice of late, though I'll have to integrate another ritual alongside it once I get the specifics nailed down.
