Lion Skin Belt - Goetia

I was wondering if members here had thoughts on the type of lion skin that ought to be used for the belt in the Lemegeton's Goetia. I've managed to find a lioness skin for sale. Perhaps this is nitpicking, but if anyone has any further details on specifications that might be relevant, I'd be interested to know. I understand Stephen Skinner talks about the leopard skin of the Shem priests, and Raum215 here suggests that 'lion' may be a mistranslation for what is infact a civet, but any other information would be useful.

I'm considering purchasing the lioness skin - would a male lion be more suitable?

Thanks all.
