A Greater Key to unlock or not

The Greater Key of Solomon is certainly a good and very useful book in its own right, I have heard that some people think it is a key that helps one to unlock the other grimiores. While I personaly think that it contains excellent procedures for the preparation of certain tools and instruments, especially talismans, I do not see it as a necessary precursory system to help make the Goetia work, as I am getting some really interesting results with the Goetia without the addition of elements from the Greater Key.

What are your thoughts about the above and the Greater Key's relation to other grimiores.
