Regardie's "Golden Dawn" vs "Complete Golden Dawn System..."

Hello all --

I am interesting in adding the definitive work on the Golden Dawn to my library. I understand Israel Regardie's masterwork came out in four volumes during the 1930s/1940s, more recently republished by Llewellyn in a various number of editions. I understand this is not so much "Golden Dawn" material as it is Stella Matutina, an offshoot that formed some time after the big schism from Mathers and co.

Starting in 1984 New Falcon (and soon Original Falcon) Publications have published the phonebook sized "Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic" with Christopher Hyatt. Apparently this edition has more "original" material but I have read that it is somewhat jumbled and takes even further liberties, adding "bonus" material of questionable origins.

To further complicate this, in subsequent editions both Llewellyn and New Falcon have apparently revised the work and added new material. The "Complete" book only seems to have a couple hundred more pages than the enlarged Llewellyn hardback.

In their more current forms, which book is the better resource on the Golden Dawn and their correspondences? Thanks! :geek:
