Which trad. African religion is this?

Met a girl the other day who said her family practiced a spiritualist-style Christian religion, based on the Old testament and that wearing qwhite robes was common, and cow sacrifice was a part of the practice.

I'm curious if anyone can help me identify it from their own knowledge - I tried a quick google but it's not that important, still I found myself curious because cow sacrifice isn't all that common I would have thought in such a harsh continent? thinking
