Kemeticism compared to Hermeticism

Hello forum,

Recently someone recommended to me the study of Kemeticism, instead of Hermeticism. He told me that people he knew that were interested in Hermeticism ended up sticking with Kemeticism. After doing some research on Kemeticism I am not sure what the difference in the belief system is. I am still quite young in Hermeticism and much more in Kemeticism. By posting here I was sorta hoping that someone on this forum has done extensive research on both and would be willing to share any insight into the differences and similarities between the two religions.

Is the difference that Hermeticism is based on the Hermes Trismegistus interpretation of Ancient Egyptian religious belief, while Kemeticism is the actual belief system or just a different interpretation of the Ancient Egyptian system?

Best regards,

Fool
