When I read the above, I thought to myself, scientifically spirit i.e. energy cannot be destroyed.
Like our physical body may die but spirit will go on therefore it cannot be destroyed.
Then it goes on to say...
One could then cork the bottles and throw them into the river to wash away the evil spirits.
According to the previous text I thought the spirit was destroyed by the sunshine so why would you bother to cork it?
Are they talking about carcus? This is mind boggling to me.
