Forum Spam

As you have probably noticed we have been receiving tons of forum spam we are not the only ones. This seems to be a general issue with Phpbb (this forum's software). From now on new users registering will have to be approved by myself I can therefore filter the spam users from genuine ones. I am seriously condsidering moving this forum onto Vbulletin its far superior and far more secure.. What are your thoughts in possibly migrating the forums we wouldnt lose any posts or data obviously?
