Cursing a Magician Ex

Hello Black Magic forum,
If you are or were to be in a relationship with a female or male magician, would you be worried about them cursing you in the event you break up/divorce?
What measures would you take to counter the potentiality for magical vengeance, or counter-curses?
My own thoughts are that you would have to do a kind of mutually assured destruction thing, i.e, they have something linking to you - but so do you.
Or just break up as amicably as possible and stay friends?
However, break-ups are known to be less than pretty most of the time, so guys, what are your thoughts?
