Animal behavior and spirits

I was wondering what people thought of how you interact with spirits when they take animal form and act like those animals. I know one spirit, a demon, who doesn't want me to say his name. But, he has the form of a cat and will do cat things, as he speaks to me: jump up on tables, lay in my lap, as if he's about to sleep, etc.

I was wondering what you guys thought of a correlation between spirits and them exhibiting animal behavior.
