This Candle Stuff

I have been wondering about this for some time. Why do spirits like candles?
What do candles do for them?
How do they take out what they want from the candle?
How do they use whatever it is they get out of a candle?
I saw that one spirit liked his candle with water and honey. How does he enjoy the honey? What are the mechanics of this?
Why candles and not an electric lamp? For instance, why put a seal under a candle and not under an electric lamp?
I've read that beeswax candles are best, but why? And do paraffin candles not work, or work less better?
I was told (or read somewhere) that when doing candle magic, light from an electric bulb shouldn't fall on the candle, but heard elsewhere that this is nonsense.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.
