Okay, so I can't remember what exactly what I was studying earlier (I think it was Enochian magick?), but I've been bumping into mentions of Aleister Crowley. I got curious, as I heard the name before, but I only knew him as a deviant who worshiped demons. I read a couple of biographies on him and assumed he was a respected magician. But then as I'm going through certain occult forums, I'm realizing that some magicians praise him for being powerful and insightful, but then others say he's misleading, and therefore, not to be trusted (especially concerning his views on the Abyss and Choronzon).
I'm really confused on the divide. Is it all a matter of opinion, or was Crowley not really as great of a magician as some may claim him to be?
