Greetings Friends,
I wonder if any here are familiar with this little volume by Finbarr and the magickal system described in it.The name of the author is intriguing to say the least!
Mr. DeVille is a continental European magician, and states in his book that the method so desribed in the book is common on the continent.Basically, the tarot pack is NOT used for divination in this system, but as a variation on the theme of the usual wiccan method of invocation in which a magic circle is cast on the floor and the colored candles put at the four cardinal points to represent the elements, with four further representatives of the elemets placed at the center of the circle.
In M'r. DeVille's system there's no need for burning candles, but three 'picture' cards of the tarot pak - of each suite with appropriate elemental attribution are placed at the cardinal points, whilst other cards representative of the practioner, the elements andobjective are placed at the center. The usual invoking and banishing pentagrams are offfered in the ritual, though Mr. Deville makes his 'round' start in a different order ('usual continental practice' he says).
Anyone used this system?
Any results?
How common is it, particularly vis-a-vis the 'usual' candle , water, salt and incense wiccan ritual?
