Invocation of Gabriel from the Book of Abrasax

Has anyone done this invocation? I've been drawn to this rite in my search of more Graeco-Egyptian magick, but thought it was odd that it asks the practitioner to draw Gabriel's name in blood. I've never come across an instance where blood is used to call an angelic being. Is this present anywhere else?
