Re: Odd Insights into Hekate

The oak as Zeus tree could point towards Hekate's epithet Dione which is the female form of the name Zeus. See here:

Re: Thoughts on PGM Reconstruction

I think you are right. The PGM is very loose and you can see in the text itself, the same spell will appear more than once and slightly modified to suit different situations. I think the whole thing is one big copy & paste job, and I continue this approach myself. One thing I've found useful is ...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

In most Abrahamic religions, in the context of your "fudge" one of the problems I have is that fact that the supreme god is given gender (why) Probably because they are not really monotheistic, there is no supreme god in the bible. Just several gods, all competing to be thought of as supr...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

The "Holy Headless One" is identified in other texts as being the constellation Draco. He is Set in his form as the Bata serpent. Bata exists as a continuous serpent, or a series of Remanifestations (see "The Tale of Two Brothers) ..... .. This is interesting stuff, is he a headless ...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

But the results the ritual gives, and the underlying philosophy, which i mentioned above concerning the gnostic ideas of Setheus and the creation of Aeons.. says it is not an osiris ritual. Again reading with eyes closed as you said would probably be the only way you can miss the Typhonic names in ...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

It's funny, in some systems the Magician in Tarot represents amongst other things, clear direct sight and true comprehension. Yet in real life magicians can spend 5 pages on an internet forum discussing the identity of a deity addressed directly in the ritual in question as "Osoronnophris"...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

It's purpose is pretty clear, it's an exorcism. Crowley and the G.'.D.'. and all the other folks were definitely under some sort of Guidance when they engaged with this material. As we now know from the texts we have access to that they did not, even when they were getting it wrong, they were in a d...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

Akephelon lacks a head yet in the rite it is said that his mouth burns completely. How can one not have a head yet have a mouth? From the book I just quoted, a footnote says: For the roaring of Akephalos.... a reference to the noise of creation at the eastern horizon.....The light of the deity and ...

Re: The Bornless Ritual & The Holy Guardian Angel

A few quick points: "...conjure him by his name..." This seems pretty straight forward, calling the Headless One as Akephelon. I admit that in all the time I've recited the Headless Rite I never referred to him as Akephelon, perhaps it is time for me to start. His name - several are given,...

Re: PGM IV 154-285: Initiation with Typhon for Bowl Divination

Ahh the gods always put obstacles in our way! Only the most persistent get results. As soon as I started working on pitch to get the right tones for planetary work, I got a bad ear infection and couldn't hear the pitch pipe I was using! Even Crowley says somewhere that as soon as you start doing rea...
